Ardmarnoch Estate

Tighnabruaich, gaelic for "the house on the hill" is a beautiful waterside village also surrounded by spectacular scenery and you can indeed see the houses and buildings set into the hillside.

Tighnabruaich is a local village, only 20 minutes from your accommodation on Ardmarnoch Estate and well established as a location for water based activities offering canoeing, sailing and kayaking.

Close by is the Kyle Of Bute golf course, a 9 hole course with stunning views only two miles from Tighnabruaich.

For keen anglers there are three trout ponds in the hills above the village, controlled and stocked by the local angling club, where you can relax and enjoy fishing in the company of very few others.

During the summer months the paddle steamer, The Waverley, makes scheduled stops here twice each week which is a wonderful experience.

You will also be in for a treat if you love food with wonderful eateries including the popular restaurant An Lochan, member of Scotland's official Seafood Trail.
